A proof project should demonstrate judgment, not novelty
For experienced workers, the advantage is not knowing the newest interface first. It is knowing the work well enough to recognize a bad output, define constraints and decide what should remain human-controlled. The ILO’s 2026 discussion of AI and skills similarly emphasizes that foundational cognitive and socio-emotional capabilities remain important alongside new technology.
Use public, synthetic, anonymized or employer-approved data. Never paste confidential customer, employee, patient, financial or legal information into an external AI service just to create a portfolio sample.
What to show in a two-page case study
- The original task and why it matters.
- The safe/synthetic input you used.
- The prompt or workflow at a useful level of detail.
- One error, limitation or weak output you caught.
- Your human edits and verification.
- The final artifact and what you learned.
